Off Road – 4 WD
The environment is characterized by the diversity in the landscape. It is quit similar to the Ardennes or the inhospitable Scotland.
SUV- and 4×4 drivers can enjoy their stay here! There are many kilometers of gravel roads and crossings, as well as less accessible mountain trails.
In Februari 2016 4WD-Magazine published an article about Quinta do Castanheiro, covering two full pages.
Off Road
Portugal is a fantastic country for off-road riding with enduro bikes. The center of Portugal in particular offers various areas with winding roads through beautiful nature with many views and pleasant villages.
The terrain is particularly challenging, from sandy paths to river crossings and forest paths interspersed with rocks.
Enduro is a branch of motorsport that takes place in the terrain. Enduro is a form of long-distance motocross (previously called reliability rides) that also involves driving on public roads, hence the need for lighting and the license plate. The route consists of sections that lead over the public road, and where one must therefore adhere to the applicable traffic rules, interspersed with off-road routes, where one continues the route like a real motocross racer on an unpaved path.
Sports
The region is particularly suitable for sports activities, such as hiking, mountain biking and swimming.
